Private Stargazing Night

About This Trip

Twenty minutes outside Hurghada the hotel lights disappear and the sky changes completely. This is a slow, quiet evening for your group alone: a private 4x4 with driver takes you into the desert in time for sunset, and you stay until the stars are out in full.

Dinner is cooked Bedouin-style at a small camp — grilled chicken or vegetables, rice, bread baked in the sand, salads and tea. Afterwards your guide sets up a telescope and shows you the moon, planets and the brightest star clusters visible that night, and points out the constellations with a laser pointer.

A fixed price for the whole group of up to 8 — children included, which makes this a good family evening. Warm layers are a good idea in winter; the desert cools quickly after dark.
